AT REGINA ART STUDIO WE BELIEVE:
Motions involved in making art, such as holding a paintbrush, drawing with a pencil, and scribbling with pastels, are essential for the fine motor skills and cognitive development.
While drawing and painting curved and straight lines students improve their hand-eye coordination. Using different brushmark techniques such as hatching and cross-hatching while shading objects helps develop muscle strength and control.
Drawing and painting develops visual-spatial skills, which are more important than ever. Parents need to be aware that children learn a lot more from graphic sources now than in the past.
I teach children to analyze visual information for building complex three dimensional shapes in drawings, understanding form, distance, and angle. We learn colors’ characteristics and relations between matching and contrasting colors to create proper tonally-balanced paintings.
The arts strengthen problem solving and critical thinking skills. Learning how to make choices and decisions will certainly carry over into their education and other parts of life.
While working on these types of paintings and drawings, I help children to build on their self-confidence, improve decision making, and boost motivation.
Creativity might be the number one skill of the 21st century. If we think of creativity as problem solving, it’s easy to see why creativity in our kids is so important. Art develops children’s creativity in a fun and relaxing space.
Each session every one or two lessons I give kids the time and opportunity to be a creative person and express their own uniqueness and personality. I give my students themes and ask them to use their imagination to create unique characters and compositions.
I always pay attention to childrens’ individual abilities, discover their talents and reach their best results.
Hi, my name is Regina. I teach art lessons in my private art studio in Oakville, Ontario.
Art has always been a part of my life. I enrolled into an art school when I was 8. Later, I studied Arts & Education at an university and graduated as an art teacher.
I believe there is more than one way to teach art, so I try to come up with various lessons that appeal to all my students. I’m looking for a balance between direct instructions and letting students be creative and free. I see art as a way to learn to be creative – a crucial skill in our ever-changing world.

Our daughter has been studying art in Regina’s studio for 4 years and she absolutely loves the lessons. Her drawing techniques improved a lot over the years and we were surprised every week by quality of a new work. Most of all she enjoys warm collaborative atmosphere Regina creates at the lesson, like an art party with good friends.Vlada N.
